Expanding the Boundaries for Human Potential
The purpose of the Robert Lee Harris Institute is to implement local, state, national and international initiatives to assist in improving the physical, social and economic conditions for people in the disabled community. The activities will address multiple areas which involve medical needs and treatment, education, technology, employment, transportation, accessibility and public awareness for disabled persons.
The organizational activities will be provided in the following areas:
1. Education and training to assist in rehabilitation, employment and vocational services.
2. Accessibility and programming in the arts, theatrics, and musical industry.
3. Public awareness, media productions, journal publications and newsletters to inform the public of changing trends,
policy, information and education covering the disabled community.
4. Consortium and coalition building to advocate for special needs.
5. Conferences, workshops and training seminars for service providers and the disabled community.
6. Economic development, entrepreneurial and self sufficiency training for the unemployable..
7. Assist in capacity building to expand the human potential through special assistance, networking, spiritual development and interagency collaboration.
